Terms and Conditions

  

DATA PROTECTION: We understand Data protection is very important therefore all your data is strictly confidential and will not be shared with any third party, unless prior consent to release your data has been given. 


CANCELLATIONS: As we work by appointment only and don't accept walk-ins, the appointment you booked is exclusive to your pet. We ask you provide as much notice as possible when cancelling appointments. If the booking is not cancelled or cancellations is less than 24 hours’ notice, prepayment of future appoints may be required. 


LATE ARRIVAL: We ask you arrive on time for your appointment. We understand things happen but we also need to keep allocated appointments, therefore if you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your appointment we may have to cancel and re-schedule your appointment. 


LATE COLLECTION: We limit the number of pets on our premises by being an appointment only grooming salon. A late fee of $20.00 will be charged if you are 1 hour past the agreed pick-up time. This cost will be added to your pet's grooming invoice. We do not house animals overnight, if a pet has not been collected by close of business and contact has not been made with the owner or authorised person, overnight accommodation will be organised at the owner’s expense. 


SAFETY and WELFARE: We ask you honestly answer our questions about your pet’s temperament. We run an open salon to allow pets to socialise, stretch and play. Make us aware if your pet needs to be isolated or you have any worries about them being groomed so that we can prepare ourselves for their grooming session and assess whether we think they are suitable to be groomed in our salon safely. 

It is the responsibility of the owners to notify Curly Tails Pet Grooming (Curly Tails) if their pet is aggressive in any way towards people or other animals. We will discuss this with you and agree on a suitable way to groom your pet safely, without stressing or making them uncomfortable. We want to make the experience as positive as possible for your pet. 

By agreeing to the terms and conditions you are giving Curly Tails permission to muzzle your pet if we feel it is completely necessary for the safety of our staff. Using a muzzle will not harm your dog and is simply a way to keep both the groomer and your dog safe. 

It is the owner’s sole responsibility to notify us if they do not wish for their dog to use a muzzle. 

We reserve the right to deny or cease services if we deem it a risk to the pet, other pets in our care or to the groomer. If the grooming session is ceased prior to the groom being finished a reasonable cost maybe charged for the time spent trying to groom your pet and for the allocated slot appointed to you. 


CHARGES: Our prices are based on your pet having a good temperament, coat and skin condition. Extra services, will be discussed with you before we start and an estimated for services will be given to you at drop off.

Extra charges may be incurred during the grooming service if your pet is uncooperative, has excessive undercoat, is found to have fleas, or their coat is matted, knotted or maintained to a poor standard.


FLEAS/ TICKS: If fleas are found during the grooming process, your pet will receive flea treatment and an extra charge will be applied. 

We will not attempt to remove ticks ourselves; we feel this should be done by your vet to ensure the tick is removed safely and successfully. The groom will be cancelled and the owner will be contacted to pick the pet up immediately, if we are unable to get in contact with the owner or authorised person the pet will be taken to the vet for tick removal at the expense of the owner. 

  

LIABILITY. The owner understands that by leaving their pet in our care they leave their pet entirely at their own risk and discretion. Whilst we take every safety measure, we cannot accept any responsibility or liability in the case of any injury, death, or illness of your pet. 


DANGEROUS DOGS: We will not under any circumstances groom any dog registered under the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) ACT (2008).


HEALTH or MEDICAL PROBLEMS: Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate an existing condition. This can occur during or after grooming. 

Although all due care is taken pets can be wiggly and accidents such as cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails etc can occur.

In the event of an accident or serious medical issue arising, where the owner is not onsite or readily available, Curly Tails will seek veterinary care for your pet from the nearest available vet. All medical expenses for veterinary care are the responsibility of the pet owner. 

We require your pet to be up to date with their vaccinations, as they will interact with other animals whilst on our premises. Puppies must have received their C5 vaccination 10 days prior to attending the salon. Proof of vaccination is required for puppies under 6 months. 

If your pet is under sedition or has had recent surgery, we will need approval from your vet to ensure your pet is fit and healthy enough to be groomed. If your pet is unwell on the day of your appointment, it may not be accepted for grooming due to the risk of spreading illness to other pets. 


PHOTOGRAPHS: You consent to us taking and using images or recordings of your pet. We love taking photos of your pets during their grooming session, especially before and after shots. Photos may be used on our website, socials, and printed promotional documents. Please let us know if you prefer your pet not to be photographed. 


SATISFACTION: If you are unhappy for any reason, and would like something adjusted, we will be happy to work with you when you pick up your pet from their appointment. However, once you take your pet home, we will only accept return visits for adjustments 24 hours after your appointment. Any adjustments requested after this time may be charged a grooming fee. 


MATTED DOGS: Your pet’s health and comfort is important to us, badly matted coats can be time consuming and painful to remove, therefore clipping/shaving short may be the most suitable option. It's important to not leave the fur matted. Severely matted coats can ultimately damage and tear the animal's skin, providing a breeding ground for parasite infestations. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin allowing fungus or bacteria to grow, producing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, hematomas, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to regrow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioural changes. Prevention is the best defence by scheduling regular grooming appointments, every 4-6 weeks. De-matting is not without risk so we do not accept liability for any abrasions, cuts, or sores after the grooming session. 

There is an additional fee for de-matting as it is time consuming and causes extra wear on grooming equipment.


ELDERLY DOG POLICY: we are not responsible for any injury, including those that can lead to death, such as stroke or heart attack. We also will not force your pet to endure a long and painful grooming process to achieve a certain desired look. If your pet can not endure the grooming process due to weak and ailing joints, breathing difficulties, or any other reason, we reserve the right to refuse service in the best interest of your pet. You will still be charged for any service performed. 


PAYMENT: Payment is due at time of pick-up, unless otherwise required. We accept cash, credit and debit card payments. The electronic payment surcharge is payable by the client.


MODIFICATION to TERMS and CONDITIONS: We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website or notifying you through other means.
